In a medical emergency, call your insurer's Assistance Centre before receiving treatment whenever possible. Failure to do so may result in you paying 20% of eligible medical expenses out of pocket.

How to file a claim

Call the Assistance Centre immediately

Contact your insurer's 24/7 assistance line before receiving medical treatment. The number is on your policy confirmation card. If it is medically impossible to call, have someone call on your behalf as soon as possible.

Gather your documents

Collect your policy number, proof of travel dates (passport, visa, or airline ticket), original itemized medical bills and receipts, proof of payment, and complete medical records including your attending physician's diagnosis.

Report the claim within 30 days

Notify your insurer of the claim within 30 days of the incident. Written proof of claim must be submitted within 90 days of treatment or occurrence.

Submit your claim

Submit online via your insurer's portal, by email, or by mail. Complete all claim forms fully — incomplete forms will delay processing. Include all itemized bills, receipts, and supporting documents.

Track your claim status

Log in to your insurer's online portal to monitor the status of your claim. You will be notified by letter, email, or e-transfer once a decision has been made.
