    Critical Illness Insurance

Getting sick is hard enough. Paying the bills shouldn't be. Affordable protection so you can focus on getting better.

    What is Critical Illness Insurance?

It's insurance that pays a one-time cash lump sum if you're diagnosed with a covered critical illness and survive the required period. That money is tax-free, and you decide how to use it — for treatment, to replace income, or for whatever your family needs during recovery.

This insurance came from a real human need. Dr. Marius Barnard, a cardiac surgeon, saw many of his patients survive serious illness only to face financial hardship. Convinced that help couldn't be only medical, he drove the creation of the first Critical Illness Insurance in 1983 — a product designed to protect families, not just treat the illness.

The reality is that with each passing year, the chances of surviving serious illness and living longer keep rising. But the cost of surviving goes far beyond medical treatment. This insurance gives you the peace of mind to focus on what matters most: your recovery.
