Medical insurance for parents and grandparents, with monthly payment options.
The Super Visa lets parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens and permanent residents stay in Canada for up to 5 years at a time. To apply, they need private medical insurance that meets the Government of Canada's rules.
I help families choose the right plan, compare prices between insurers, and get the insurance documents the application asks for.

Two of the insurers I work with let you pay a Super Visa policy by month instead of all at once:
21st Century
2 payments when you buy + $50 per policy
If the person has not travelled yet, the policy can remain pending, with no additional payments while waiting for the visa. If they are already in Canada or need coverage immediately, the policy is activated and the payment schedule begins.
Destination
2 initial instalments · $10 per person per payment
The policy is issued with a start date. If travel plans change, request a date adjustment before that date to avoid coverage and scheduled payments starting as planned.
Not sure yet when they will travel? 21st Century allows the policy to remain pending until the travel date is known. If coverage is needed immediately, it can be activated from the start.
Compare options from Manulife, 21st Century, TuGo and Destination. Eligibility, benefits and conditions vary by plan.
Basic, Standard and Enhanced plans. The Enhanced plan can cover stable pre-existing conditions.
Basic, Standard and Enhanced plans. Monthly payments and up to 2 years (730 days) of coverage, subject to eligibility.
Plans for every age, including 86 and over, with an option for stable pre-existing conditions.
Option 1 may cover eligible stable pre-existing conditions, subject to policy terms. Monthly payments available.

Can I pay the Super Visa insurance monthly?
Yes. IRCC accepts instalments with a deposit. 21st Century and Destination offer monthly options; eligible 21st Century plans can extend to 730 days.
What happens if the visa is refused?
Refunds following a visa refusal depend on the insurer, policy status and applicable conditions. I can explain the terms before you buy.
Are pre-existing conditions covered?
Some plans may cover stable pre-existing conditions, subject to stability periods, eligibility and medical questionnaires where applicable. Other plans exclude them. Review policy terms before purchasing.
Do I have to buy 1 year if the visit is shorter?
Yes. For the Super Visa application, the insurance must be valid for at least one year from the date of entry. If the visit ends early, cancellations and refunds depend on the insurer and policy terms.
Who buys the insurance?
Usually the child or grandchild living in Canada buys it for their parents or grandparents. The policy is in the visitor's name.
